Hello,

 
I have a question about the patch alert settings in Kaseya. If I check “Email recipients” only will I get an email? Or do I have to check at least one of the other options (alert/ticket)?

Here are our new scripts for July, 16 2010!

Instructions for Kaseya V5 Customers: Ifyou are on the my.virtualadmins or cp.virtualadmins  servers, you won'tneed to install the scripts. They will already be loaded and ready todeploy in the scripting section of Kaseya.
 
Install Instructions for IT Center Customers: ITCenter customers will need to manually install the scripts into theirsystem. To do that, right click the download links found below for thevarious scripts and save the xml file to computer. To import the scriptlog into your IT Center account and go to the "Agent Procedure" tab andleft click on "myProcedures". Then select the "Import Folder/Procedure"and browse to xml file on computer and click Save. It should be readyto deploy after that.

The New Scripts:
  • WinDirStat Silent Install                                                   Download K2
    • Script Desc: Downloads zip file from sourceforge to AgentTemp. Unzips file and then moves all files to %SYSTEMROOT%. Script Than deletes zip files and writes to script log if successful.
  • FastStone Capture Portable                                            Download K2
    • Script Desc: Script Desc: Downloads zip file from developers website and saves it to AgentTemp. Unzips files and then moves all files to %SYSTEMROOT%. Script Than deletes zip files and writes to script log if successful.
  • 7-Zip (x32&x64)                                                                   Download K2
    • Script Desc: Script determines either x32(THEN) or x64(ELSE) than downloads correct installer. Installer than runs with the following arguments /quiet /norestart. Script than deletes installer and writes to script log if successful.
  • Disable Add/Remove Programs Option                         Download K2
    • Script Desc: Prevents user access to Add/Remove Programs option.  This is a policy setting change and requires a reboot.
  • Enable Add/Remove Programs Option                           Download K2
    • Script Desc: Re-enables user access to Add/Remove Programs option. This is a policy setting change and requires a reboot..

Troy, I think you meant to say Logo, right?   Yes,  the logo can be changed on the reports.   Just send us a jpg, gif, or bmp of your log to "help at virtualadministrator.com" and we will upload it for you and then send you the code to plug in on the Reports tab.

The size of the logo is not critical, but don't send something to large, or it will not look good.  Think of something like a letterhead size.

One possible reason is the user is logged in through an RDP session.  This will not be reported in the Kaseya console.

Another cause is the  kausrtsk.exe is not running or is malfunctioning.  Check to make sure it is running in Task Manager.  You can do this remotely by going to Remote Cntl> Files/Processes> Task Manger.

Hi,
 
I have a strange issue. I have a machine in Kaseya which is shown as online but there is no user supposed to be logged in. So I started remote control. When the remote window opend I could see someone acting and doing stuff on this machine. So I canceled my session. Back in Kaseya the machine was still shown as online but not logged in. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Bobby,   I have created 2 scripts for you, one to enable and another to disable.   Scripts have been posted on the servers under Misc -> Disable Add/Remove Programs and Misc-> Enable Add/Remove Programs.

After running a the script, you will need to reboot in order for it to work.

As always please test on a few machines before doing any large deployments.

I need a little help with a script. I'm new.
 
The script need to wright a reg key and a dword.
Disable Current User: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Uninstall
Disable All Users:
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Uninstall
Create a new DWORD value named NoAddRemovePrograms
Set the value to 1 to disable Add/Remove Programs
Set the value to 0 to re-enable Add/Remove Programs
 
I have checked the reg on my computer and under KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies ther is no uninstall so uninstall would have to be wrote along with the DWORD
 
Can i use set registry value to wright the HKEY or DWORD?
 I know i can use the set registry value to set dword values.
any help would be nice
